Idli – Kerala Breakfast Recipe

1)  Urad Dal Whole – 1 Cup
2)  Iddli Rava (Rice Rava, Cream of Rice,Rice Sooji) – 2 cups
3)  Fenugreek Seeds -  1/2 tsp
4)  Salt
5)  Baking Powder – A pinch

Soak urad dal in  water for 8 hours
Grind urad dal into silky smooth batter.
Add iddli rava and mix in blender without any lumps. Please take care not to heat the batter while grinding.Add water if needed.
Keep it covered overnight for fermentation in a warm place. (If you are living in a colder place keep batter in the oven with oven light turned on)
Stir in salt and baking powder to the fermented batter and make fluffy iddli’s.
