Idiyappam ( Noolappam)
1) Fine Rice Flour or Idiyappam flour – 2 cups
2) Water – 2 cups
3) Salt – for taste
4) Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
5) Oil – 2 tsp
Boil 2 cups water adding 2 tsp oil( I use idayam nallenna , Ginelle Oil) and salt to it.
Take rice flour in a mixing bowl and pour hot boiled water to rice flour and mix well with a thick spoon without any lumps.
Take an Iddli stand ( Iddli thattu) and put 1/4 tsp grated coconut at the bottom of each rounds.
Transfer some dough to idiyappam press and press thin strings to iddli stand( iddli thattu).
Top off each one of them with 1/4 tsp grated coconut.
Boil some water in a Iddli cooking pot and steam idiyappams.
